List of the Day: America's Most Generous Cities
Which cities give the most? Market consumer research firm Scarborough Research released a study this week offering an answer to that question, at least in the United States.
Salt Lake City tops the list, followed by Minneapolis, Harrisburg, Greenville, South Carolina, and Washington, D.C. See a slideshow of the top ten at the Huffington Post.
Overall, more than half (56 percent) of adult Americans live in a household that donated money to a charity of some kind (arts groups count, as do healthcare institutions). Unsurprisingly, rates of giving correlate with income, and givers were 24 percent more likely to have graduated from college.
