The Barefoot Run Through Kathmandu
It's the Nepali equivalent of the New York marathon, a citywide trek made by hundreds. During the "Bol Bom" pilgrimage, the faithful chant the name of Lord Shiva while running some 9 miles without shoes. Those who complete this task are hoping to be blessed with good health, wealth and happiness.
