A Diary of Camping in New York City
Nope -- this isn't Occupy Wall Street again. This is just one young couple's quest to find serenity in nature just a couple miles from Manhattan, at a campsite in "the wilderness" of Staten Island. Proud of their escape, Dean Peterson captured the little adventure on video. With fall approaching, it could be worth checking out recreation.gov (the resource Peterson used) to see what other cities might be hiding the odd campground.
