Norwegian Train Promotion of the Day: Hours of Free Footage Up for Grabs
Norway's Nordland Railway (Nordlandsbanen) celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, and so the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) filmed the train's legendary 450-mile route, from Trondheim in the south across the Arctic Circle to Bodø, four times, in all four seasons.
The result is a 10-hour television documentary about the country's northernmost train line, which you can watch here. But that's not all. The NRK has made the many hours of footage available online for download from their site. They're encouraging users to grab it, mix it, and post it again.
It's a make-your-own-train-video project -- there's a short clip below to give you an idea. Be sure to watch in HD.
