London Mayor's Olympic Message to Tube Riders: 'There Is Going to Be Huge Pressure on the Transport Network'
Boris Johnson, London's mayor, has recorded some brand new public transit announcements that riders will get to hear starting this week and through the duration of the Olympic Games.
In one of the messages, embedded below, Johnson says:
“Hi folks! This is the Mayor here. This is the greatest moment in the life of London for 50 years. We’re welcoming more than a million people a day to our city and there is going to be huge pressure on the transport network. Don’t get caught out! According to the BBC, it's estimated that up to three million extra trips will be made in London during the Olympics. Locals have been advised to work from home, adjust work schedules, or simply walk or bike to work if possible during the Games.
