Bicycle-Powered Treehouse Elevator of the Day: Yes, This Exists
How do you reach a treehouse 30 feet above your head?
For Ethan Schlussler of Ohio, the only way was to climb up and down a ladder — that is, until he invented an ingenious bicycle treehouse elevator. Watch him go:
Curious about the logistics? Schlusser told MAKE, "It was originally a 20-something speed bicycle, but first gear wasn’t slow enough, so I cut the large sprocket off the front, and welded it on the rear to get a lower gear. I also had to do away with the de-railers and make a new chain tensioner."
