Denial of the Day: Rahm Emanuel Does Not Like Nickelback
As striking teachers filled the streets of Chicago, standing together for union solidarity, a resolution seemed far away.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel was dealt a crippling blow on Monday when a striker accused him of being partial to the wildly unpopular Canadian band Nickelback. The striker's photograph went viral, unleashing yet another round of mockery for the Internet's least-favorite rockstars. The soft-rock quartet is famous for their 2001 anthem, "How You Remind Me."
Local blog RedEye contacted the mayor's office if there was any basis to the dastardly rumor. A spokesperson issued a one-word response: "no."
