Kashmir's Cold Spell

The recent wave of snow, ice, and below-freezing temperatures are not exclusive to the United States.  

Seven thousand miles away from Washington, D.C., where the windchill is currently 1 degree Fahrenheit, Kashmir has been inundated with snow. There are power outages, flight delays, and a shuttered national highway. Some towns have seen enough precipitation and single digit temperatures to lead residents to burn wood to unfreeze frozen pipes.

More of the same is anticipated over the next couple of days. Below, scenes from around Kashmir during their cold spell:
