Guatemala City's Teacher Problems
Students in Guatemala City faced tear gas and pepper spray after they blocked access to the famous El Inceinso bridge. The 200 pedagogical students were demanding reforms to the teaching profession and school curriculum. But their protests was met by harsh government response. Interior Minister Mauricio Lopez told reporters "we will not allow groups to arbitrarily block the road; this is a warning: we will not permit this type of situations."
