Skydiving Accessory of the Day: A Folding Bicycle for the Extreme Sports Enthusiast
Oh, you take your folding bicycle on the Metro? That's adorable.
This folding bike is designed for jumping out of planes. It's called the Paratrooper, and it was developed through a Defense Department grant for soldiers airdropping into combat. It has 27 speeds and it folds in 20 seconds, and "can traverse terrain silently at high speeds with no thermal or acoustic radar signature," in case that's something you need on the way to work.
Like other military technology before it (GPS, for example), these Montague bikes have made their way into civilian life. If skydiving and cycling are your bag, this may be the perfect place to spent that $1,000 you've been saving up.
